Katie + Nathan // Chicago, Bridgeport Art Center Wedding
Katie and Nathan told us that, when it comes to their wedding photography, “Capturing raw emotion and the fun moments is more important to us than having something super formal.” BOOM. That’s exactly what we love doing with our documentary style of photography! So we knew from the start this couple would be a perfect fit for us.
Katie and Nate’s Bridgeport Art Center Wedding
The thing that stuck out to us most about this wedding was the genuine friendship we saw throughout the day. When the wedding party gathered together for photographs, you could tell they were simply having a blast. And then the reaction photos during the speeches say it all—this was a truly tight-knit group of friends! There was so much joy throughout this entire day.
So as you can imagine, one of our favorite images of the whole day happened when this group of friends was laughing and goofing around. We got a great shot of Nate totally cracking up at his friends. When the wedding industry is super “bride-centric,” we love getting good portraits of the grooms on their wedding days. After all, they’re having the biggest day of their lives, too! And again, it was Nate’s friends who got him to laugh like this. We were just lucky enough to be there to capture and preserve that moment.
And then, of course, we couldn’t blog about this wedding without mentioning their love of Star Wars—though that’s probably obvious from the pictures alone. Their ring bearer rocked it out in a Stormtrooper costume, and Katie and Nate posed with some Star Wars paraphernalia after their first look.
K8 + N8, thank you for asking us to be part of your celebration. We love to photograph unique, fun weddings, and man, did this one deliver!
